SK Ballroom Open Sessions

  • PAVED Arts Event Space #424 - 20th Street West Saskatoon Canada (map)

Common Weal is proud to present SK Ballroom Open Sessions—A project that consists of four monthly community gathering sessions. Led by multidisciplinary artist, Aldeneil Española, SK Ballroom Open Sessions is an expansion of his community-based Vogue workshops that cultivate a safe space for youth, BIPOC, and the 2SLGBTQ+ community to share knowledge, practice their craft, and create connections.

Through Vogue dance practices, film study, and workshops presented by Ballroom Legends, SK Ballroom Open Sessions aims to create a sense of belonging for marginalized communities by bringing Ballroom culture to Saskatchewan in a way that connects to, celebrates, and honours the roots and essence of Ballroom.

This project is generously funded by SK Arts and supported by PAVED Arts.
